Trees and Text

Yeah, I already know that the title is weird so you don't have to remind me of it.  I am going to start on this tree business.  I am neither an Alabama or Auburn fan so I am not judging by the team I go for.  I really think that the guy who decided to poison the tree in Auburn did something stupid and I do not know if he did it over football or over some other reason but there is no point in going crazy over it.  I understand the tree is 130 years old and it means a lot but if you do not want to to stoop to the same level as the guy who poisoned the tree, do not go and destroy anything of Alabama's.  The tree will most likely die and you will lose a 130 year old tree and and a 50 year tradition and that is upsetting.  I know many Alabama fans who are just as upset over this as Auburn fan. No more tree comments.

Well my texting rant will probably be pretty long considering I text a lot and people make me angry when I have to take a long time to figure out what they are saying in their message.  First let me make a list of what makes me frustrated:

1. The use of lol, rolf, rolfmao, or hahaha in almost every text you send.  Everything is not funny so lets not laugh at it.
2. Taking forever to send a message back and then all it says is yeah or hahaha or lol.  I understand we all have other things we are doing but tell me when you text back so I do not think you do not want to talk.
3. Please explain you answer if I ask a question except if it is a yes or no question and say something else after your answer because I do not know how to respond to no or yes.
4. Finally never saying good bye at the end.  You just stop texting because you go busy instead of saying "I am busy. bye." you just vanish.  I can understand falling asleep while texting or your phone dying.

I know this is not a lot to bother me but really it is not that hard just to do these simple things while texting. I mean I do use hahaha but only when something is funny and I was laughing but most of the time I use lqtm instead.  I text people who do this all the time and I always feel like throwing my phone at the wall because it makes me frustrated.  I know that some people texting like this is normal but I am an AP student and I expect to have a conversation with someone.  I do not understand how this can be all you use to talk to some one.  The lack of emotion in texting does not allow me to have a short and stupid conversation.  I know if you know someone really well you can use sarcasm and it will be understood.  I do not always know the person I am texting all that well so help me out.

School, Taekwondo, Pants, and Grades

I can actually rant about something this time.  School.....it is always a big subject when I really have to rant about something.  I mean why not rant about school.  It is the main source reality striking me down.  I have really high expectations of other people.  I expect people to use their common sense and to drive a reasonable speed in the parking lot.  The people I go to school with do not get this.  I went to walk across the parking lot to go to the school and some person comes speeding around the turn and has to slam his breaks. If we drove the speed limit (1) my life would not be endangered by other drivers and (2) you would not have to slam on your breaks.  I know going fast is fun and all but my life matters.  Drivers Ed could be more useful if the school did not put it on and actually taught us something.  Some people need to figure out the rules of the road.  I am not saying I am the perfect driver but I use common sense in a busy parking lot and drive slow so I do not hit anybody.  The other part of school to rant about is the use of the bells.  The school has them installed for a reason but yet we are never let out on time for days when we have to go to homeroom for some stuff.  Today it was progress reports and I know not all people care about school and they do not want to be here but they need to hurry up and go to homeroom so I do not have to sit around forever waiting to get a piece of paper that tells me I am doing just fine in my classes.  Grades do not totally reflect you knowledge in a class considering if you do not test will or you just slack off and do not do well.  I just fully enjoy hearing kids in the hallway saying I passed one of my classes.  Come on!  I do not want to stereotype but I always think this right away: "You are probably in a general class where they give you worksheets and you pass your time away talking to your friends so loud I can not hear my teacher when you are in another room.  You have it easy.  Now why are you failing?"  I know this is not typical of all students in my school or in any school for that matter.  I know if you normally fail you class you are going to tell the whole world about how you passed, I would too.  Now all things aside, I am doing fine in school and I could put forth more effort but I am a senior and I am slacking off.  Now the other school rant I have for today is the way guys have decided to wear their pants.  It is not cool and you look kind of stupid wearing pants that are 3 sizes to big.  I know we are all smart enough to go to the store and buy pants that fit.  Even famous people wearing pants 3 sizes to big and they have enough money to pay some one to buy their clothes.  Why wear your pants this way? You look ridiculous. I can not stand being behind a guy who has to pull their pants up so they can walk or the waddle down the hallway slower than they would normally walk because they do not want to lose their pants.

My rant on school is over so lets cover some Taekwondo stuff.  I am not ranting just saying how busy it keeps me.  I mean this week alone I have/had pictures, re-testing, awards, teach day, and parents night out.  These are not all on the same day.  I have something to do at the studio almost all week and I am ready for this week to be over so I can go back to a normalish schedule.  I only say normalish schedule because the schedule of classes is changing and I have to rearrange what days I go to class.

That is all I have to say today and it covers the rant I had last night and in the hallway today.

Weekend Events

So this past Friday was my birthday and let me tell you this....it was great if you do not put all the bad thing in consideration.  I tested for my new rank in Taekwondo and forgot to eat before I went and got sick and then had an asthma attack and then I could not break my last board.  After all of that, we went to dinner with my Taekwondo family and they got my a 1 Tb hard drive for my birthday and I was super happy.  My parents got me a trip to Nashville to see the Predators vs Red Wings Game. (Go Wings!)  I had a lot of fun when we got there because on the car ride I got sick feeling.  We went to the game and I was having fun.  All the Predator fans kept saying the Red Wings suck and it made me irritated but we were in their hometown. The Red Wings just did not bring it that night and they lost 3 - 0.  I was happy to go to the game but I would have been more happy to watch my team win.  My weekend did not go as we hoped but what can I say.  It can not be the worst birthday ever.  Now I am back in school and I want to go home and sleep.  There has to be something better to do than play mindless games online and tell you guys all about it.

Forgot to Blog

Yesterday in my computer class, I forgot all about this blog but there is really nothing to rant on so I will just tell you about this game I played instead. It is called clock words and it is a typing game.  You type the words as fast as you can to kill the spiders so they do not steal your secrets.  I played for about a hour so you can tell it is addictive.  I am not big on playing games online so when I find one I play it...A LOT. I am probably going to play it again after I finish this blog.

Yesterday I also was checking out some band sites after I got home and still had nothing to rant about.  One of my favorite band is Yellowcard and they are going on tour and they are going to be in Atlanta in April.  I would love to go but (1) they are to far away, and (2) I have not idea who would want to go with me, and (3) it kind of cost money that I do not have.  I was also looking at After Edmund's (link will take you to their site but you have to go to one of their links) and they are a pretty cool christian band.  They are going on tour soon but no information has made it up yet.  I really had no reason to rant yesterday so you are getting this instead.

Lunch Table

So my rant of the day involves the lunch table.  I do not want to say names so this person is going by Annoying Voice.  Annoying Voice as stated in in the name has a very annoying voice and finds in necessary to cuss every other word.  If that is how you think you sound cool, you are sadly mistaken.  If anything really bothers me, this is it.  Cussing every other word not only makes you sound immature and illogical but it seem like you really do not know English.  Expand your vocabulary for crying out loud and use words that describe how you feel and if you are just using it to use it...STOP. I do not want to hear it and I am pretty sure not a lot of other people do either.  Any way...Annoying Voice also has some of the most annoying things to say. They make racist, sexist and religious jokes, not caring for who is around them.  They ask would you rather questions and try to make almost everything about them even if no one wants to talk about that.  I will not say anything to Annoying Voice because I am pretty good about ignoring it but some days (like today) I can not do it.  It just makes me want to claw my ears off. I would rather listen to nails on a chalkboard.  I am not saying I hate my lunch table, because I do not.  I sit next to some of my friends and we have a good time joking around and eating. Days like today just make me slightly irritated and want to say something. I do not want any one to take this as I dislike this person and I do not; they are simply an example of what I think. I dislike the fact they can not speak and act like a young adult.  I really believe that our generation is behind on maturity and needs to grow up.  I am right there with everyone else.  We all make stupid decisions but cussing every other word and making comments just because you think it is funny can end.  I wish that more people could hear themselves before they speak so that text language and other versions of English can stop.  Brb and omg are not need to be heard all the time. Just something for all of us to think about.

After School Work

As I was in the first entry of this blog, I am at school in Web Design and Publishing and I am all done before everyone else yet again.  I am not going to rant and rave this time but I am about to allow myself to get distracted by this blog and by this website: http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/.  There are so many games to play online but I can never find any games that I like as much as these.  I am pretty sure that the bell will ring soon so this is the end of this entry and I had fun playing games today in class.
